Are Downtown Chicago same-day crowns as strong as traditional crowns?
Yes. Our Downtown Chicago same-day crowns are made from high-quality e.max or zirconia, the same materials used in lab-fabricated crowns. The difference is that CEREC mills them right here in our office, cutting out the lab and the wait entirely.
Does getting a same-day crown hurt?
The preparation process is done under local anesthesia, so you shouldn’t feel discomfort during the procedure. Some patients experience minor sensitivity for a day or two after placement, which is completely normal.
How long do CEREC crowns last?
With proper care (regular cleanings, avoiding grinding, and good home hygiene), CEREC crowns can last 10–15 years or more. Our Downtown Chicago same-day crowns use the same durable materials as traditional lab crowns, so longevity is comparable.
Does insurance cover same-day crowns?
Strobel Dentistry is a fee-for-service practice and does not participate in insurance networks. If you have PPO coverage, we can submit claims so you can use any out-of-network benefits available through your plan.
